2 Minute Drill Airs Third JA Alumni-Only Episode

We’re excited to share the latest JA alumni-only episode from the entrepreneurial pitch show 2 Minute Drill!

Now in its fifth season, 2 Minute Drill gives entrepreneurs from all walks of life the chance to win US$50,000 for their businesses. Each episode, hosted by legendary entrepreneur, investor, best-selling author, and JA University Chief Chancellor David Meltzer, gives contestants two minutes to deliver their most convincing pitch ever. Season three featured the first JA alumni-only episode in 2022, followed by the second JA alumni-only episode in season four. The season five JA alumnus winner will join INJAZ UAE alumna Afrah Shuja and JA Canada alumna Nadia Ladak as a 2 Minute Drill champion.

The JA alumni-only episode features five JA alumni from around the world:

  • James Halmasy, JA USA alumnus, CEO of Brainiacts, producers of activities to keep the brain sharp 

  • Nicholas Kee, JA Jamaica alumnus, CEO of Kee Farms, which specializes in aquaculture farming

  • Clint Cadio, JA Canada alumnus, CEO of Solargen, which produces solar cells

  • Steven Banda, JA Zambia alumnus, Founder of Gaphen, a company that empowers small-scale farmers to improve food security in Zambia

  • Aya Yousef, INJAZ Lebanon alumna, Co-Founder and CEO of Step.Propriate, a product that helps people with hand disabilities open doors

In addition to the cash prize, each episode of 2 Minute Drill awards the JA Impact Award to the contestant whose business idea demonstrates the greatest potential social impact. Because all five contestants are JA alumni, James, Nicholas, Clint, Steven, and Aya each received the JA Impact Award.

And the winner is . . .

Congratulations to Clint Cadio, whose pitch for Solargen wowed the judges and won him US$50,000 to fund his business.
