#2MinuteDrill Keeps Impact at the Fore

February 24, 2020

Have you been following the JA Live sessions with Sarah Rapp, David Meltzer, and the winners of the 2 Minute Drill JA Impact Award? Now’s your chance to catch up! (And, if you missed the first few sessions, we have them compiled on the blog in our first post.)

February 4: Richard Hanbury, Sana Health

After a car accident in 1992, Sana inventor Richard Hanbury experienced excruciating pain. As a result, he was given only five years to live. Now, 28 years later, Richard is pain-free all because of Sana.

The pitch: Sana is a non-addictive, simple mask and headphones you wear on your head. The device uses audiovisual stimulation to increase the balance between the left and right sides of your brain leading to greater relaxation. Ongoing use of your Sana mask resembles the effect of long-term meditative practices which leads to a more restful state overall. Sana can clear a busy mind and accelerate physical recovery and improve mental well-being.

February 11: Sharen Eddings, CodeWithSharen

After volunteering at her son's school to teach students how to code, Sharen realized schools were struggling to find computer programmers to come into schools and teach STEM education—that's how CodeWithSharen was born! Sharen has since pivoted as a result of COIVD-19 to providing coding lesson services to parents. CodeWithSharen’s goal is to get kids off of video games for one hour each day, to learn how to produce technology instead of consuming it!

The pitch: CodeWithSharen offers one-hour STEM coding lessons that can be added to virtual or distance-learning sessions. Students learn how to use code to create fun, interactive projects using HTML, CSS, and other computer languages. HTML is used to create the content of the page, while CSS is responsible for the design or style of the website. CodeWithSharen lessons fit parents’ budgets and kids’ schedules! Select a project and book it online—Sharen will take it from there!

Chris Knudson is a co-founder, chief data scientist, and CEO of E2E Connect, a San Diego-based start-up that has developed and AI designed to cut hiring cost in the biotech, healthcare, and IT industries by a full 50%. Prior to his involvement in E2E, Chris spent the majority of his career in the field of quantitative process management and process engineering. Over the course of his career he has worked with multiple software companies on CMM/CMMI process improvement initiatives to help them reach the pinnacle of achievement in this pursuit. He is a mathematician and his work at E2E has resulted in an AI that creates something analogous to a DNA match between jobseekers and prospective employers.
