FedEx and JA Launch Season 2 of the FedEx Junior Business Challenge
March 22, 2018
JA and FedEx have announced the return of the FedEx Junior Business Challenge, an initiative in conjunction with the PGA TOUR that provides the next generation of entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch original business concepts at four PGA TOUR tournaments:
WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play (Austin, TX, USA): Tuesday, March 20
THE PLAYERS Championship (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, USA.): Wednesday, May 9
RBC Canadian Open (Oakville, ON, Canada.): Wednesday, July 25
Dell Technologies Championship (Norton, MA, USA.): Wednesday, August 29
We're excited to expand our footprint with FedEx this year through the inclusion of locations in both the USA and Canada! One JA student company from each qualifying event will be selected to move on to the FedEx Junior Business Challenge finals at the TOUR Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, for a chance to receive a $75,000 donation to their local JA area from FedEx.
At the first challenge at the Austin Country Club, business judges included professional tennis player Andy Roddick, PGA TOUR professional Pat Perez, Brian Munoz of Austin-based Penny Luck Shoes, and Brandon Barrett of William Murray Golf (the company started by actor Bill Murray). Here are a few highlights:
The FedEx Junior Business Challenge is part of the FedEx Cares global giving initiative, in which FedEx is investing $200 million in more than 200 global communities by 2020 to create opportunities and deliver solutions for people around the world.
