Exploring and Sharing the Power of Youth Voices with Cortico and MIT
May 8, 2024
This week, JA Worldwide participated in the “Trust and Human Connection in the Age of AI and Social Networks” symposium from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Constructive Communication (CCC) and Cortico. At the event, attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue and explored how we can foster deeper connections in our increasingly digital society.
Thought leaders delved into the complexities of generative AI, the challenges to our democratic systems, and innovative platforms enhancing communication. Attendees learned how to analyze communication patterns with insights from pre-recorded conversations to improve listening and speaking skills. Speakers also presented MIT’s campus-wide initiative using facilitated dialogue to heal divisions, build trust, and introduce cutting-edge research.
Before the main event on May 7, our Youth Voices partner Cortico, part of the MIT CCC, held a workshop focusing on empowering youth leadership through dialogue on May 6.
JA Worldwide Director Alumni & People Engagement Sarah Rapp represented JA and the Youth Voices project among Cortico’s select partners, showcasing the power of the youth voices within the JA network. YouthVoices.org, our collaborative effort with Accenture, Cortico, and the MIT Center for Constructive Communication, brings to the forefront the experiences of JA alumni worldwide. Launched in April 2022, this initiative has grown significantly, with even more ambitious plans for 2024.
Stay tuned for more Youth Voices news in the coming weeks!
